Mitch likes to keep himself well groomed, a habit from his years in the military. He prefers to keep his hair cut short and his face shaven. He typically can be seen wearing his sturdy leather jacket with slacks or a simple suit for more professional occasions. He has several scars, all on his chest and back and not very noticeable or remarkable.

Mitch is a well humored guy who enjoys to laugh and is typically friendly. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and will go out of his way to help them. Mitch prefers to speak his mind letting others know what he thinks and feels but experience has shown him he cant always be as blunt as he would like. He does his best to live by his own morality, he sees it as his way of making up for past sins.

Mitch is still haunted by the things he saw during the war. He will wake up at night in a cold sweat and if reminded of that time in his life he could have a flashback. He desperately tries to hide it, and for the most part he is successful. He will use humor or sarcasm to lighten the mood, especially when he is having one of his attacks.

Mitch possesses an eidetic memory allowing him to recall anything he had seen or read with very little difficulty. Coupled with this Mitch has the ability to absorb anything he has read or seen much faster then any normal human. He can read a full novel in about five minutes and scan a digital database as quickly as the interface will allow him. His abilities however have there drawbacks, and as he uses his ability Mitch will get a headache, starting as a light throb that will grow to a full blown migraine and possible nose bleeds. During major bouts of study Mitch has been known to pass out for hours, waking up to a blinding pain in his head. The only way to lesson the pain and clear his head is rest. If he can get a full night sleep in he typically will feel better.

As a symbol of his station Mitch has a badge on his belt. While it started the same as every other badge issues to the members of the Guard his has been altered. This badge has the special ability of allowing him to form a full suit of armor. Triggered by high levels of adrenaline and his fight or flight response, whenever Mitch is threatened a protective armor shell will ‘grow’ around him. Appearing much like a medieval suit of armor, and as strong as steel the suit can absorb large amounts of damage. While his range of motion is more limited he can still fight. As the suit becomes more and more damaged the damaged plates will form cracks, like in glass, and begin to leak blue manna. When enough damage is dealt the piece will shatter away, leaving him exposed.

Once Mitch’s adrenaline level drops to a normal amount the suit will go away and will require time to ‘recharge’ variable to the amount of time used (10 minutes will equal 10 hours.) Sam will feel drained, will need to sleep as soon as it is safe to and when he has awoken he will be completely famished.

Mitch has received full military training and is an expert in hand to hand combat and earned high marks in marksmanship. Due to his ability Mitch has also been able to study a little bit of everything giving him enough familiarity in many subjects to get himself in trouble, and he has been known to do do.[i]

• the tale of a lifetime•

Mitch Was born to Harriet and Thomas Grayson, a teacher and a soldier. From a young age Mitch dove into any book he could get his hands on choosing to spend more time in the library then in the playground at recess. He received high marks through school and was able to attend college before joining the service where he used his ability to excel in multiple training schools before being sent to the front.

During the tail end of the war Mitch served as a line officer and saw quite a bit of combat. In his own way Mitch was trying to overcome for the bookworm stereotype he had picked up during school. He would never say no, taking dangerous missions and putting himself in less then ideal situations. He gained a reputation during these years as being fair and worrying about the men under him earning many men’s respect and loyalty..

About a month before the end of the war Mitch and his units were tasked with prisoner transport. The prisoners attempted to escape and the human soldiers responded in kind. Fueled by rage and hatred they gunned each individual down, even after they surrendered. Mitch was one of the shooters and it wasn’t until afterword’s that he realized what he did. Faced with the bullet ridden bodies and rivers of blood Mitch changed.

After the war Mitch found himself joining the Terran Guard. The main driving factor behind this was to make up for the sins of his youth, to give back and maybe redeem himself. He still serves with the Guard and is well known for the high quality of work he does.

Mitch always carries a variety of artifacts and practical gadgets. As is the nature of the job he carries a medium caliber pistol either in a holster on his hip or slung under his arm. He wears a leather coat lined with yeti hide which makes it bullet proof when it comes to most smaller caliber rounds and deflective of bladed weapons. Mitch lives by the axiom ‘Be Prepared’ and this can be seen the various pouches ‘of holding’ on his belt and in his pockets. These contain a variety of items that any survivalist would need.

Mitch also arms himself with a Khopesh style sword stored in a sheath that makes it the size of a small dagger. Light as a feather this weapon can do slightly more damage to varying supernatural beings and will grow strong when the suit of armor is in use. Sam keeps this weapon strapped into the small of his back.

Note: Any future artifact you add to your character will more than likely require staff approval. This is so your character doesn't become too powerful.
